Our Beliefs
Many organisations have agreed statements of their values in recent times, displaying these in corporate literature, websites etc., and finding the process of describing their essence in widely understood terms helpful. However, we are not driven by the worlds ways!
Yet, when we look to our Bibles we find that God is described in terms of his ‘values’. So, for example, when God passed in front of Moses, proclaiming His name, He said ‘The LORD, The LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet He does not leave the guilty unpunished’ (Exodus 34.6).
If God felt the need to spell out his qualities, then it seems appropriate for His church to do so!
The Values Of Park Baptist Church
1. We worship the one true God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
2. We learn and teach from the Bible, drawing particularly upon our Baptist heritage in such areas as believers baptism and congregational church management.
3. We welcome all who want to share with us, being non-judgemental about their past and recognising each human being as a unique creation of God.
4. We pray, believing that God wants to talk with us and that such communication is essential if we are to discover all that God intended us to be.
5. We co-operate, observing that God equips each person differently and expects us to work together for His glory.
6. We develop, knowing that we are as yet imperfect but that God seeks to perfect us.
7. We serve our neighbours, both within and beyond our town.
8. We declare the love of God through our lives and activities, individually and corporately.
